Ours is a stunning french family stone Villa for holiday rental, built and luxuriously renovated in the french provencal style, nestled in the privacy of the surrounding hills of St Paul de Vence with a sea view over the coastline of Nice. Beautifully designed and furnished bedrooms on 3 levels, Beautiful mature garden with bar and several outdoor entertaining spaces, elegant kitchen and lounge, the perfect place to relax and unwind and explore the cultural villages of the Cote D ‘Azure. We love our home, we hope you do too.
Our pool is the heart of the summer, usually full of floating unicorns, footballs and floating sofas on which we perch clutching a glass of wine hoping to not get splashed. It’s unusual in that its an authentic oval shaped salt pool, temperature controlled and the perfect way to cool off in the summer heat.
We are particularly proud of our garden which has received much attention over the past 2 years. We try to introduce as much colour and maturity into the landscape and we have an amazing gardener who extended the lawn supported by a retaining wall which is a feat of architecture! Though you cant see it from the upper garden. An old olive tree stands with pride at the edge of the garden supporting the hammock, which is my favourite place to sit with a quiet book!
The changing colours of the sky and sea could keep you occupied from dawn until dusk. Sunset is a special time and the view from the terraces are stunning. The bedroom at the top of the house is the very best and the telescope is a great way to spend an hour watching the boats on the waves and the planes landing on the coast below.
The villa is situated high on the hills overlooking the Nice coastline, along a lane 5 minutes from the famous walled town of St Paul de Vence and the village of La Colle Sur Loup.
You enter the villa on the lounge level into a large and airy lounge, elegantly decorated with 3 sets of french doors onto a terrace which shows the extent of the property and the views over the garden and coastline.
The kitchen is both authentic french but with all of the modern amenities, double oven, microwave, fridge freezer, coffee machine and deep farmhouse sink, extremely well equipped.
The dining room (for 8) leads onto a further outside dining terrace (for 8) with authentic outdoor BBQ fire and grate and views over the garden. The BBQ is authentic provencal style with not a gas bottle in sight. chose your logs from the woodpile and burn down the embers, and grill your steak by the light of the roaring glow. You wont forget the taste.
From the terrace, sweeping steps down to the garden, a cool outdoor seating space and a summer terrace with another BBQ/FIRE and seating for a further 10.
Back in the house on the higher floor, a beautiful airy bedroom with ensuite shower and the best views over the hilltops to the sea, and sun loungers on a private balcony.
On the middle floor the second bedroom, large and bright with bathroom shower and bath with views onto the garden and pool. This is my favourite room, its cool blues look so lovely against the terracotta floors with the greenery of the garden bursting through the windows. Its a very tranquil space.
On the lower floor, a well equipped laundry room and 4 further bedrooms with doors directly onto the garden and pool. 3 of the bedrooms are ensuite and decorated in authentic french comfort.
The Master bedroom opens onto the garden through two sets of french doors. It has a huge super king bed and ensuite bathroom with double sink, and a walk in shower/wet room
The cutest room in the house, very pink and pretty and opening straight onto a beautiful outside terrace through a lovely arched window. Cosy and cool, and a bathroom with a bath and walk in shower.
The two additional guest rooms both have king beds, oodles of luxurious bedding and comfy seating, sharing a jack and jill bathroom and again straight out on to the garden and pool.
The downstairs hallway is a place to pause. Beautifully dividing the space on the ground floor between the bedrooms.
When the sun is shining and you want to escape to the cool shade, the downstairs terrace is a shady nook to kick back in. Situated underneath the upstairs dining terrace, this area stays cool all day, and at night is a great way to relax after BBQing in the summer dining area.
Covered in orange trumpet blooms, the outside summer terrace has another opportunity to BBQ in a larger space. A gorgeous place to sit an drink wine in the evenings looking back at the house lit up feels like the epitome of provencal life.
The newest edition to the house, and an area where we as a family spend most time. A lovely lounge to retreat, turn on the large wall mounted tv or music. A huge fireplace dominates this space making it as cosy in winter as its cool in summer. The bar is fully equipped with wine and beer fridges, ice machine and sink.
The sun terrace is one of many areas to soak up the rays and positioned in the house to catch the maximum of the long summer evenings.
